A handicraft, sometimes more precisely expressed as artisanal handicraft or handmade, is any of a wide variety of types of work where useful and decorative objects are made completely by one’s hand or by using only simple, non-automated related tools like scissors, carving implements, or hooks.

Promoting Paperbag Creation

At Corvee this initiative is actively participated by women on a rear basis. This activity is majorly taught to our NGO ladies, as the raw material required for making bags is readily available in the Market as well as Paper bags have some advantages over plastic bags when guilt comes to sustainability. Paper bags or Paper envelopes can be used in various forms like gift bags for gifting, Newspaper bags for boutiques or retail shops etc, printed paper bags for brand promotions.

The paper bags taught at Corvee majorly focus on:
What is the occasion? Where is it going to be used? What product weight the bag is going to carry? This helps the ladies to create bags as per user needs and which are strong and reusable.

Promoting Aromatic Product Creation

India has a rich tradition of using incense in many social and religious occasions”. Incense sticks, also known as agarbatti, joss sticks, in which an incense paste is rolled around a bamboo stick, is one of the main forms of incense in India. Other main forms of incense are cones and logs which are incense paste formed log shapes, and then dried, incense remains an important part of the daily puja ritual, which is a religious offering performed by all Hindus to their deities, especially during the beginning of a new venture, or to commemorate some special occasion. The smoke is believed to ward off demons and cleanse the air around. They are fragmented.

Aroma oil is made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. Handmade natural soaps are made in small batches with care by the soap maker. High quality ingredients and pure essential oils are used to create unique formulas. Each handmade soap bar is not only natural but functional, safe, luxurious and gentle to the skin. Especially for those with skin sensitivities, they find handmade bars to be nurturing and beneficial.

The Program supports women in impoverished communities by creating economic stability using creativity and the traditional craft of stitching. Our NGO helps in providing financial assistance, raw material and new design ideas to match with the latest trends in the market. Community-based initiatives that provide sewing empowerment for women in poverty have been essential for the growth of rural India. Sewing has become a highly desired vocational skill and is a powerful tool for those living in poverty. Recognizing the long term impact of vocational training, our NGO provides this solution-based approach across India to bring self-confidence and skills to women.

Through our training workshops which include basic stitching techniques, knowledge of latest fashion trends, and promotion of their ready products, etc., most of our ladies have gained confidence and started working independently.
